Differences Between Hot Galvanized and Cold Galvanized Mesh

Cold galvanized, also known as electroplating zinc, is galvanized small amounts of zinc. So the welded mesh gets less durability than the hot galvanized welded mesh in terms of abrasion resistance, service life or the cathodic protection. The hot dipped galvanized welded mesh is coated uniformity, and with strong adhesion of zinc.

  1. Hot galvanized has long service life, hot galvanized is not rust, cold galvanized is easy to rust.
  2. After the welded mesh go through a hot zinc covering process, the surface treatment is flat and bright.
  3. If you use the mesh for birds, we suggest using the hot galvanized, because it is not easy to rust for birds due to feces. Its square or rectangular mesh openings make it is excellent for housing birds and animals.
